    Assad sounds stunningly like a Democrat! The writer could have substituted Howard Dean or Van Jones or Steny Hoyer or so many other names in place of Assad and the context would essentialy remain the same.

    We do not belong in the battle unless we are willing to actually destroy the enemy. We have not been willing in all of the Middle East "war-esque" efforts the USA has engaged in since Jefferson and Tripoli.

      Seems to me that even in Tripoli, they regrettably didn't actually finish the job.

        That occurred to me. At least Jefferson was willing to understand that he HAD an enemy hiding under the guise of a religion. If he had left none of them, they would have found a way to build their numbers back. They are an evil that will always be with us. A HUGE show of force has historically been the only thing that controls their vicious, subhuman appetites to enslave and conquer.

    If, the one, does decide to get involved in this rebellion, under his newly minted 'Responsibility to Protect Doctrine'. Will he ask Congress' approval. Or will we wake one morning to find that he has acted and we are at war with not only Syria but Russia and China as well?
