Let's face it, Romney is a liberal, however, he's getting my vote because there is a phucking communist #occupying the White House.

  2. Nick Shaw says:

Are there really that many conservatives that need convincing at this point in time?
Granted, Mittens was no where near the top of my list but, seriously, what is the option?
Get him in and keep him hamstrung from going Bush with a strong Congress and Senate. The local races are the ones to win, the presidential is an after thought.

Absolutely agree Nick. It is congress where we really need focus. The progressives have got to go.

  3. Billyb9 says:

California- Grey Davis was recalled. People voted Arnold Schwartzinkennedy (not my choice) perhaps because he seemed so tough. After all, isn't perception reality? By the end of two years, Arnold was beaten to a pulp by the liberal legislators and the dead head electorate. He gets voted in for a second term, perhaps for their amusement. By then end of his second term, he was a whining girly man, crying to Obama to help, and bowing down to every green initiative that Obama espoused.

What does this have to do with Romney? Nothing- nothing at all. Romney has experience in an executive position, knows how to handle opposition, understands diplomacy. He can't be all things to all people, but unlike Arnold (and Obama by the way) he's ready to step into the office.

I know Douglas, and have met him at several forums, over the years. I don't think that I've ever encountered a more principled, dedicated man. A philosopher who actually practices what he preaches, in the classroom! Please take him seriously. I don't think we have too many people, on this site, who won't vote … or who will cast a protest vote. But in case someone is considering doing so, please read the full text of his message. It may change your mind.

As for me and my house, we're tossing Zero out of OUR White House on November 6. Also, we're goiing to act like complete infants during the interim between administrations. And just in case something happens that results in martial law, we're locked and loaded … have no fear …

  5. Stephen_Brady says:

    From his essay:

"Under another four years of Obama, we would experience more "historic" changes, such as:

    1) The federal takeover of health care, leading to rationing, inefficiency, and a loss of personal freedom. You will be paying for abortions. Some would rather go to jail than submit to this. I imagine that Catholic priests would lead the way.

    2) A growing and perhaps insurmountable debt, mortgaging our future and making us like the disaster that is Greece.

    3) Further evisceration of our military and cut-backs in military benefits.

    4) The continued deconstruction of the Constitution, thus removing us from the Rule of Law and putting us under the Rule of Man: One man, the man who would be King: Barack Obama.

For these reasons and many more, I, Douglas Richard Groothuis, will vote for, support, and pray that Mitt Romney becomes the next President of these United States. I hope you will join me. So much is at stake.
