Morning, chopper. Just last night I happened to be wondering about the origins of the Air Force. Thank you for reading my mind.

    • Stephen_Brady says:

Music has saved me more than once, Vick.

Up we go into the wild blue yonder ….
… Nothing can beat the Army Air Corps! ….

      Old brain, here …

    • DB523 says:

Good morning AZ, my father was Army Air Corps, I was AF….at the old Bigs the poster B17Engr was a living "old timer." I had wonderful chats with him, I miss him.

      • onecornpone says:

I wonder what happened to AirForce Mom? Did she ever show up here? Never mind, I can check myself. She slipped my mind for a while, as did StoryKeeper, Behemoth… seems like another swerved into my conscious mind recently as well.

      • AZVick says:

Thank you both for your service. My condolences on your loss.

    • chopper says:

i must have read your mind Vick……..because that was one i edited in, after my initial post.

      • AZVick says:

Right. I was standing in my kitchen after supper last night, realizing that Army, Navy and Marines all had to be much, much older than the Air Force. Duh. My family never really served so I'm very ignorant of it all. So, thank you for answering that question.

  3. ret_cpo says:

    Good morning all.

I guess we will find out today if Issa and his committee is serious. Holder has defied him again.

Will there be a contempt vote today? Personally, I think it is all a smoke screen. Issa is already back peddling.

    What a bunch of losers!!

    • NotKennedy says:

Issa will probably have to go out for donuts and hold a little conference and say mean things about that nasty ol' Holder.

      • ret_cpo says:

        Good Morning NK.

That's the way I look at it too. Issa may show contempt for Holder during the hearings, but most of that is for show IMO. I don't think anything will come of this. Therefore, it is a distraction.

I guess there is something to say for keeping Holder on the ropes a little bit. If it consumes some of his time, that is time taken away from his activities enhancing votor fraud.

        • ★FALCON★ says:

I was almost convinced by my fellow posters that this was all a dog and pony show. However, I couldn't let myself believe that America was so degraded that a crime of this magnitude would go unpunished or unexposed – and it would have gone unexposed had Brian Terry and Jaime Zapada not been murdered.

I think this is going somewhere – as fast as you can say furious.

          • NotKennedy says:

It will go somewhere a hell of a lot faster with Holder out of commission and an independent special prosecutor to get them all under oath before they wander home after the election. Issa needs to man-up and actually DO something, He keeps speechifying and scathing this and that but there seems to be no follow through on anything.

Tom Harkins puts on a TV show too. May God take pity on the people of Iowa, they can do better. I am not so sure that can be said of Issa and California.

            • ★FALCON★ says:

Everything you say is true – however, Issa has a mole inside the DOJ who fed him the emails – in essence, getting Holder on the record continuing to lie has been part of the strategy.

He also has Nappy lying twice. I thought that was a nice move getting her to re-confirm her lies so there was no mistaking what was said.

          • ret_cpo says:

I hope you are right but I have no faith in Issa. We will see today. The contempt vote is scheduled for today. If it takes place it will be in Boehner's court. Guess where that will go.

            • Deusexmachina says:

              Likely, nowhere….

So far, this has been a sad little dog and pony show…

              • ret_cpo says:

That's what I think too Deus.

                • Deusexmachina says:

and I see nothing happening that's going to change my mind….

Holder's going nowhere and will likely be the next Supreme Court Justice, if Obama gets re-elected…

        • NotKennedy says:

That could be his real motive, just keep catfish face on the hook.

So far, have Boner and his band of bozo's been able to inflict even one casualty against the new socialists? In my view, the greatest rebuke to Obama so far has been Bill Daley bailing out from a band of bumbling idiots.

          • ret_cpo says:

Good point about Daley. He sure didn't stick around very long.

            • NotKennedy says:

He was ashamed to be seen with them. Amateurs. Daley is a pro, can't wait to see him as a bronze bust in a museum, both dates filled in on the inscription. Creeps like him have kept Chicago they way they are for multiple generations. I guess they just like that way.

          • Deusexmachina says:

            Catfish face…

            NK, you crack me up….

            • NotKennedy says:

He has the lips, the spacing between his eyes… he is definitely farm raised, a veritable Pigford farmer, and government approved!

              • Deusexmachina says:

He does look like a wall-eyed bottom feeder….

like the kind I used to pull out of the Mississippi in my youth….

    • Stephen_Brady says:

FOX is reporting that Holder wants Obama to exert Executive Privilege. Let's see if Zero's ready to throw Holder to the dogs, yet. Eventually, he will.

      • ret_cpo says:

He can't throw Holder under the bus. Holder is the one protecting him.

        • Stephen_Brady says:

I agree with that. Holder's political … and possibly physical life … is dependent upon how useful Holder is. The very second he becomes a liability, Obamawill look for a bus.

          • Cowboy Logic says:

I'll betcha that Holder stays up all night long, peeking out the window.

            Looking for unmanned Drones………

          • ret_cpo says:

I understand your point, but don't think it will happen. Holder knows where the skeletons are.

        • Deusexmachina says:

and he knows where Barry's old boyfriends are buried…

  4. NotKennedy says:

Having listened to young Obama spin yarns about himself, as he would later do in Dreams From My Father, a Law Review skit had a mock Obama present the following autobiography:

I was born in Oslo, Norway, the son of a Volvo factory worker and part-time ice fisherman. My mother was a backup singer for Abba. They were good folks. In Chicago, I discovered I was black, and I have remained so ever since.

  5. NotKennedy says:

Summer is going to arrive today, they promised. It has been very cool for weeks, highs in the mid-60s but today it may get to the upper 80s. That seems to be the way it happens up here, instant changes of season. It was kind of like that in Indiana too. They used to say that 'if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.'

    • LadyHawk says:

Morning NK! Stay cool! We have at least a few days of heat headed our way!

      • NotKennedy says:

It's feast or famine up here! Being from Louisiana, I can handle some heat and humidity. We did not have air conditioning when I was a boy. Still don't, up here. Thank goodness for summertime, it may only last six weeks but it all happens at once.

        • LadyHawk says:

Oh yeahhh, moved up here to MA about 3 years ago by way of 8 years in North-by-God Carolina!! In the south you better get your outside work done by 10:00am in the summer!

The few days it does this up here makes me laugh at the locals!!

          Edit:
P.S. Nk, did you see those AH's in Cambridge are putting it to a vote to outlaw ALL sugary beverages in People's Republic of Cambridge? Liberalism must be a mental disease that is contagious!

          • NotKennedy says:

I’m Ok with the pretentious monsters doing without their Dr Pepper and will raise a root beer float in honor of their sacrifice! They’re all aquiver over ‘Cherokeegate’ I’m in stitches and about ready to sign Warren’s online birthday card just to show my appreciation to them for putting up with the two #CherokeeStalkers.

The dog had to swim at lunch, right after taking his noontime Ted. Then, this afternoon he wanted a hose-job to cool off on the porch. It’s just fine out here now, about 90 but cooling to 70 overnight. Love that summertime!

    • AZVick says:

Oregon summer = down jacket weather.

      • NotKennedy says:

I never would have guessed it. Is that from the Humboldt Stream bringing cold air in?

        • AZVick says:

Could be. All I know is trying to keep warm in a seventy degree July!

          • NotKennedy says:

We touched 90 by lunchtime! Both dogs had to go swimming and when we got back the mastiff headed over to the garden hose to wait for a cool down. He has no pride.

            • AZVick says:

Congratulations. I'd kill for 90 in June. Well, in a manner of speaking.

              • NotKennedy says:

And not a moment too soon with the upcoming festivities like walking the greasy pole in Gloucester harbor. That is some cold, cold water. Cold beer warms it up some.

93 now. The dog will probably go get in the bath tub to try and cool off.

      • NotKennedy says:

I always kept sweaters on my boats for folks, even in July and August as it could feel cold after a lot of hours in the sun. One summer it was so hot on the Chesapeake Bay that I only sailed at night, that was when you could catch some breeze. And then there was an aunt in East Texas, with hot flashes… and an airconditioned Cadillac. You needed a blanket to ride with her for any distance. She drove like a Texan too so it didn’t take long to get where she wanted to go! Bless her heart, she’s gone now but there is no short supply of hot blooded Texas wimmins with hormones and hot cars!!

    • Taxpayer1234 says:

I lived in Michigan for 20 years. Being surrounded by 3 of Mother Nature's air conditioners made for the most spectacular summers evah. The consensus was that there are exactly 12 weekends of summer, and only a national emergency is allowed to interrupt weekend plans. Likewise, a rainy or cold weekend was a major tragedy.

Here in CO it's been extremely hot and windy the past few days, making the High Park fire even worse. Today, thankfully, there's cloud cover, no wind, and 80 degrees.

      • NotKennedy says:

One of these days I am going to get up there to the UP and do that 'ride around the lake' tour that Iron Butt riders talk about. I'd like to see some of Wisconsin and Minnesota too.

The weatherman hit it good today, it is definitely warm. I am going to take the dog out for his Noontime Ted and I bet I will see at least one snake. It's not easy being a snake in a cold place. Massachusetts overcame that problem by electing Kennedy's and Kerry's and all sorts of degenerates as public snakes to make up for the belly crawlers.

      • LadyHawk says:

        TaxPayer-
Love the tragedy in Michigan! :)

I lived 6 blissful years at the bottom of the flatirons in Colorado. Ninety degrees feels like 80, always a little breeze and a light jacket at night is best bet…Ah, Colorado…shorts on Christmas day!!!

        • Taxpayer1234 says:

Which Michigan tragedy–the vagina idiots or the fact OZero's fallen behind?

I live about 10 miles east of the foothills, so it gets plenty hot in the flatlands. I love the high country in the summer. It can be 95 on the Front Range, and a perfect 80 in Summit County.

  6. Hank_Scorpio says:

I'm thinking about that father in Texas that beat a child rapist to death for attacking his daughter. He should get Shiner beer free for life.

    • Deusexmachina says:

Myself, I'm thinking about that creep Sandusky and his little ogre wife….

      • Hank_Scorpio says:

I'm shocked no one's taken a shot at him yet.

        • NotKennedy says:

A bullet would be kind compared to prison.

          • ret_cpo says:

He's gonna be real popular in prison.

          • Hank_Scorpio says:

Is that true? Do child molestors really get tortured by other inmates in prison?

            • ret_cpo says:

That's what I have heard. I don't know if it is really true or not.

              • Hank_Scorpio says:

I've heard that too but it struck me as more of an urban legend. I have a hard time believing that hardcore criminals actually have a code.

I'd like to think it's true, imagining a life of pain and suffering behind bars at the hands of hardcore criminals for child molestors seems like justice to me.

            • NotKennedy says:

I don't know. I have read that there is some honor, even among thieves. Just guessing but some of the folks in prison may feel like they have been taken advantage of and many others are pretty sure that they have taken advantage of others. Victims and perps, all at the same time, in their own minds.

Betraying someone's trust can be a matter of degree. Betraying a child and a child's innocence is unforgiveable, except maybe by God. Betraying marriage vows is a bit more maleable but still hugely damaging. Telling you boss you were late to work because of traffic when you were actually having a quickie before heading to the office? ;-)

I regard Linda Tripp as one of the most vile forms of humanity ever to draw a breath.

              • Hank_Scorpio says:

I imagine that a lot of inmates have children themselves, and the feeling of being locked up and unable to protect them from predators must be maddening. So when a child molestor shows up in general population that frustration and rage might be enough to do something about it.

Linda Tripp is either a very ugly woman or a very pretty monster. I won't even get into her personality….

            • NotKennedy says:

That reminds of the old Bubba joke. A guy shows up to his new prison cell and there's big ol' Bubba, a huge man, a lifer and it is his prison cell. So he explains to the new guy how it works for their new little family. One can be the husband and the other can be the wife. The new guy is terrified, of course, but relieved to at least have a choice so he decides to be the husband. Bubba looks at him and says, 'Ok, now get over here and suck your new wife's dick!'

            • chopper says:

I have lots of friends who've done time. Some still are………

They said that child molesters are right down there with snitches as far as how they're received in the BIG house.

They told me snitches get stitches, and molesters never go to bed without a lump on their head.

        • Deusexmachina says:

I'll have to admit that I have a personal interest….

          I had a close-call with a pedophile, when I was a child…

          • Hank_Scorpio says:

I'm a parent of a young child, so I have a personal interest as well.

Pedophiles need to be exterminated. I wonder what the statistics are of pedophiles that revert back to molesting children after they've been declared "rehabilitated".

            • Deusexmachina says:

              I'm sure, it's not very good…

            • NotKennedy says:

When I was a kid you just never heard about them. The local police handled it… car accident, accidental drowning, resisting arrest, etc.

              • Hank_Scorpio says:

Same here, we were insulated from it pretty much.

Also, my dad was a career soldier and I have no doubt that if anything ever happened to me or my brother, or even a neighbor's kid, he would've gutted the pedophile like a fish.

              • Deusexmachina says:

That's when we still had 'thumpers' on the force….

            • Taxpayer1234 says:

I've heard their recidivism rate is astronomical, something like 90%.

  7. Leauxryda says:

I’m reminded that people truly need to investigate realistically the detrimental effects of Agenda 21. I know that there are many here and outside the boundaries of this community that believe Agenda 21 is some lunatic fringe conspiracy theory drummed up by off-the-wall doomsday-sayers…..

So be it……I direct you to the horse/water theory……(and I’m not talking koolaide, either)

Take this story regarding a woman in Tulsa who had her entire self-sustaining garden consisting of over 100 medicinal and edible pants cut down by her city’s code enforcement team….
    http://offgridsurvival.com/survivalgardenseizedan...

You may ask, or you may suggest Ms. Morrison violated code, even after educating herself on the actual ordinances following a previous run-in….but does that really matter?

More and more, we here are reading or viewing reports of ridiculous government intrusions on the individual via property rights violations…..be it land, home, garden, animals, etc…..

Maybe, just maybe….this is not Agenda 21 in full-face so some……but it cannot be denied this is definitely a tenant to the rule that local community governments embrace blindly…..

Who will be the next “Ms. Morrison”?

    • Hank_Scorpio says:

That's what the drones are for. Soon we'll have to show papers just to cross a state line.

    • Deusexmachina says:

The biggest danger to the power of the state is a subject that's self-sufficient….

    • Petroglyph says:

There are only a very few in here who believe A21 is tin foil.

I live this agenda daily, and after CA passed their BS budget last friday (7700 pages) without a single F'ing one of them reading it, it is full of Social Justice/Green BS which is entirely A21. They are actively and intently destroying our mining industry, now they want to go after our claims. They believe there should be no human that can be self sufficient, "take" mother natures resources and be able to create independent wealth.

To those naysayers, failure to open one's eyes is as bad as believing Obama is just failing at his job instead of the truth, everything he has done so far has been successful and is all a part of the plan.

      • Deusexmachina says:

Yes, this over his head crap has to stop….

This cretin is far from a 'nice guy'…..

      • Leauxryda says:

It's a shame because information and actual data exists………and easily found…..

Some who don't believe Agenda 21 exists actually deal with over-regulated laws and enforcement on a personal level, yet still deny A-21 exists…..if they took the time to research it, it will be the proverbial "2×4 across the head" moment…..

        Deny it a one's own peril…..

  8. Cowboy Logic says:

    Today is the Summer Solstice.
The longest day of the year.

  9. ret_cpo says:

Holder just asked the president for executive privilege for the docs requested. All this time and now he does this. Tell me he is not dragging this out. It has become a distraction. Nothing is going to happen over this.

It's just proof that the fix is, indeed, in…..

One wonders how much that farce cost the taxpayers….

      • ret_cpo says:

Nobody cares but us taxpayers. What the hell are we going to do about it?

        • Deusexmachina says:

There's really little we can do, other than vote…..

and soon, we won't even have that…

  10. I_Me_Mine says:

Today is the only day of the year where you can stand an egg on the fat end without it falling.

    • onecornpone says:

Dang! I was in too big a hurry to eat mine, to try that… Mm mm mm…

      • DB523 says:

You fast woman you…I just achieved egg balancing…

Now if only we could achieve some balance in our Gubm'nt, maybe that is why Issa is going on today, the one day in the year we can get some of these cracked eggs to balance…

    • DB523 says:

Really? Is it latitude sensitive? Just any old egg and any old place? Morning IMM…I will go try….

      • I_Me_Mine says:

Morning DB. Yep, any old egg. Stand it fat end down on a flat surface like the kitchen counter, hold it steady and it will stand all by itself.
        I've done it many times.

    • sistyugler1 says:

No it's not. The Equinox has nothing to do with balancing an egg.

      • I_Me_Mine says:

What is it then? As far as I know today is the only day you can do this.

        • sistyugler1 says:

Ooops.I said Equinox. Today is not the equinox, but that's when the story originally started, over in China. How it migrated to the longest day of the year, I have no idea. The truth is, you can balance an egg on any day of the year if you have enough patience. Since there is no scientific basis for the theory a bunch of high school kids not only proved that you could (again with a lot of patience) balance an egg on any day of the year………..they even did it on the small end of the egg.

          • I_Me_Mine says:

So, I left the office early, rushed home to try this and I can't get one egg to stand…
These are Egglands best and really don't have much of a fat end. They're almost perfectly oval.
So, sonuva%#@*# !! What little cred I had here is gone. All gone.

            • sistyugler1 says:

LOL!!!! Dam those frickin' Equinox Egglands. Must be made in China now.

              • I_Me_Mine says:

                I'll check… Nope, hecho en Mexico : ))
I think I'll throw them at my liberal neighbors house.

                • chopper says:

                  freeze them solid first.

                • I_Me_Mine says:

Taken under advisement. I'll wear an undersized glove so there's no fingerprint evidence. If it doesn't fit, you must acquit.
                  Y'all are a hoot…

            • ret_cpo says:

Try boiling it first and the sit it down forcefully. Works every time, everyday.

              • I_Me_Mine says:

Now THAT is truly funny. Thanks, I needed the laugh.

BTW, just heard on local am station that the money to buy the guns for F&F was tucked away in the stimulous bill.
                10 million…

                • ret_cpo says:

That is interesting. I hope that is plugged into the conversation in the days to come.

I just heard some audio from March 2009 from nappy and bagdad bob along with the dep. ag describing gun runner during press conferences. I have heard this audio before but had forgotten about it.
I'll post the podcast @ 8 pm open post when it becomes available.

; )…It actually works today, but not tomorrow.

    • DB523 says:

Wow, that was fun. I could not achieve up-ness on a smooth counter, but I did get it to stay up on a thin wash cloth. I will repeat tomorrow, just for comparison. I also freshened up my coffee, so all in all a very successful trip to the kitchen.

The world is going down the tubes and I am balancing eggs on end…yupper.

      • I_Me_Mine says:

The surface has to be level. So it won't work on say a table that isn't level. You shouldn't have needed the washcloth.
I do it every year just for sh!ts and grins.

        • onecornpone says:

I may stay up all night, just to see exactly what time it won't stand up any longer… ; )

          • I_Me_Mine says:

Did you get it to stand by itself?

This is the day that the earth is furthest from the sun giving the northern hemisphere the most daylight. It may be a centrifugal force phenomena that makes this happen just today. WAY above my paygrade though.
But, if I had to guess it would fall aroung midnight.

            • Holdmynose says:

In what time zone would that be? Would mine (on eastern time ) fall before CA? cornpone may have a mess on her hands.

              • I_Me_Mine says:

Good question by you and OCP.
I have never left one standing to see exactly when it falls.

            • onecornpone says:

Haven't tried yet. The early part of my day is spent in a whirlwind, most days. After daylight I am only inside if I'm making biz calls or writing checks. I do my best to take advantage of the cool hours to get the maximum work done, then begin winding down about this time of day, rotating from outside to inside for the rest of the afternoon. I have a 3 acre yard to tend, as well as overseeing the work at my farms. Gawd, it makes me tired just typing it all out… ;)

I think I remember my dad showing us this trick when I was a small child. He loved quirky stuff like this egg trick. I'll let you know!

                : )))))))))))))))

            • onecornpone says:

I tried three or four times this afternoon, but was never able to get one to stand on end. Probably my impatience and ineptitude rather than a failure of the theory. LOL, If I go back into the kitchen tonight, I'll probably try again.
              .

              • I_Me_Mine says:

I've been all asses and elbows like you today, and all this week for that matter, so when I got home I could not get one to stand on its end either.
I swear to all that's holy I have done this, on this day, many times. Just last year as a matter of fact. I took a picture on my handheld and sent it to a buddy of mine over in Tampa Fla. that was skeptical.
It must be Bush's fault…or a Democrat conspiracy trying to make me look bad ; ((

BreitAide is still running a story about Mubarak being dead. Must be another of their 'exclusives'. The very brief synopsis then purports that he is clinically dead. Sheesh. Tabloidism.

A couple of days ago one of the loons was trying to make the case that their story about some ancient book review is the real reason why Elizabeth Warren's co-author, Theresa Sullivan, was summarily dismissed as President of the University of Virginia.

When will Maury Povich be a guest columist?

    • Deusexmachina says:

There's a limit to how low he will go, so I'm sure that will never happen…

      • NotKennedy says:

Who would have guessed that even Maury had a bottom limit?

Hard to imagine that he is his father's son. Without that name connect he never would have existed.

Hi ChiTown.. It's so wonderful to watch Navy's success here…thanks for your yeoman efforts that helped.

      • ChiTownTom says:

        Hey DB…

It is indeed nice to see Navy's success. My efforts were the least I could do…I think we all should be proud of everyone's efforts to make our new home feel like, well, home. Also, it is a fine tribute to Andrew.

Obutthead is arrogantly demanding that Karl Rove's superpac release it's list if donors. The hypocrisy of Obutthead and his administration is mind boggling……starting with the fact that we STILL have no idea where this P.O.S. was born.

Today is my mom's 76th birthday and her grandson's 17th birthday. There can't be many things better than getting a new grandkid for a birthday present.

    • chopper says:

That's cool…..my mom turns 72 in four days.

      • Taxpayer1234 says:

Excellent! Hope she has many more healthy, happy years ahead of her.

Sometimes my mom's/nephew's birthday falls on Father's Day. My grandfather (who'll be 99 soon!) gets extra warm fuzzies when that happens.

        • chopper says:

i share a birthday with president azzhat…(August 4th)……i told mom it's ok, i won't smack her because i don't really think he was born on that day anyhow.

    • ChiTownTom says:

      TP,

Another thing we have in common. My mother's oldest grandchild and her share a birthday…a great gift indeed.

      • Taxpayer1234 says:

My nephew's due date was supposed to be a week later. I called my mom to wish her Happy Birthday, and she sounded like she was high. I literally asked her what she's on, and she told me about the baby. Then it all made sense… Looking back, it was so cool to hear her joyful reaction.

        • ChiTownTom says:

Yep…my mom was pretty excited too. My sister held out for an extra few minutes to have my niece. She was born shortly after midnight. We still tease sis and call her a suck-up for crossing her legs for an hour or so… ;-)

          • Taxpayer1234 says:

            LOL!

My kid was born on June 5. My history-buff dad wanted me to hold out for the 6th so he could say he has a D-Day grandkid.

          • chopper says:

I wish my mom would have crossed hers for a day…….me and president azzhat have the same b-day. August 4th.

            (I'm 2 years younger………….and much more wise 8^)

            That azzhole.

Not mom………………..i meant president Ben Dover the boot licking commie pinko.

    • Billyb9 says:

I shared the same birthday as my Great Grandma. She lived to be 97. An old wives tale is that if you share the same birthday as a relative, you will live just as long as that relative.

This is good as the guys in my family aren't known for their longevity. On my mom's side all the guys died before 50 (due mostly to alcohol issues- I dealt with that early, revoking my own "right" to drink at the age of 24 after 3 years of disasterous attempt to prove I could) and my dad's side all had heart disease problems after the age of fifty- my own dad dead at the age of 56.

I am really counting on the old wives tale to see me through…

      • Taxpayer1234 says:

Never heard about that wives' tale, but I hope it's true!

I had the opposite experience…my grandfather (my hero and second dad) was buried on my 10th birthday. I've had mostly crappy birthdays ever since (snowstorms, illness, you name it). Bleh.

        • Billyb9 says:

I"m sorry to hear that… Especially your last birthday should have been a big blow out for you. That's it. Big Birthday Party at Billyb9's house for Taxpayer1234's next Bday!!! BYOB!

          • Taxpayer1234 says:

Actually, turning 50 wasn't too bad. It helps to whine and moan a lot, 'cause it gets you the maximum number of presents and attention. ;P

On the more humorous side (if you can call it that), I came down w/mono just in time for my 17th birthday. I'd had a blood test and was waiting for confirmation. My next-door neighbor and her mom worked at the clinic. One of my pal's jobs was stamping the plastic clinic cards for new patients. On my birthday, she showed up at my doorstep w/one of the cards stamped "Happy Birthday," and announced that my mono test was positive. Only a lifetime friend could get away w/something like that!

I still have the card in my scrapbook. :)

            • Billyb9 says:

Not fun- betchya gave up kissing boys for a year after that!

My wife also has bad luck on her b-days (which by the was is in three days- I'm running for cover!!!)

Last year I had to call her to tell her that what I had planned for her birthday wasn't going to happen because I got fired!

              • Taxpayer1234 says:

Actually, I got it because I thought eating and sleeping were optional (teenage "invincibility"). I went right back to kissin' my boyfriend as soon as the doc cleared me…!

This birthday, maybe you can foist the kids on relatives and make her dinner at home. Hopefully she won't go into shock eating real grownup food and using real silverware and stuff. ;)

      • chopper says:

That's cool billy. My great grandmother had 13 kids and 2 sets of twins. One of the twins went down with his ship in WWII. She lived to be 93, which is older than any family member that i can recall. One of the 13 is still alive, my Aunt Peg, she's out in California and unfortunately has dementia. She's definitely in her 80's.

    • NotKennedy says:

This my Mother's 87th birthday. She's been dead since W almost didn't get elected, Nov 4th, 2000. I'd bet that if she had not smoked at least 50 years she might have lived a bit longer. Here's to your Mom's birthday and everybody else born on the first day of summer.
