OKC has a ban on fireworks yet they still are going off everywhere. hmmm…
Reporting it is an exercise in futility.
Best of times…. Sitting on the beach in south central Oregon with a big bonfire, lots of family and friends, some icy cold brew and lots of unsafe and insane fireworks……don't forget the sparkler-bombs….mini mushrooms clouds—big boom…good fun. Wish I were there.
Fun – Risk ÷ Safety = Boring
I have a nice scar on my shoulder from an M-80. Summer of 1973 hanging out in Prospect Park Brooklyn. Shot a bottle rocket at my friend Kenny D and he returned salvo with the M-80. I scrambled but fell on top of it. I was 13 at the time. Dad cleaned it out with alcohol (my punishment?) and never told my Mom about it until I was thirty.
Hm. I remember when I was in my early teens at a friends place for the 4th. Ton of fireworks. Some of us kids were lighting bottle rockets and tossing them into the air.
Possibly unwise, but no one lost an eye so it was fun…
