Thanks chopper, as always. Have a good day at work.

      • chopper says:

Yes, thanx Vick……..enjoy your day as well. We're finally getting a little bit of rain in the Northeast, gardens are enjoying a drink from the sky.

    • ret_cpo says:

Good morning Chopper. Quite a start to the day having to smack down a childish troll, eh.

The rhetoric in the presidential campaign is really heating up. I guess as the likelyhood of Obama's chances diminsh, the presence of these idiots will increase.

Well, anyway, have a great day.

      • chopper says:

Morning to you too Officer. I'm convinced that if maobama is taken down in this election………there will be rioting in the streets.

I can't wait!!!! This is going to be exciting.

  3. kevy99 says:

We have 190 days left to get Obama out of office.

  4. DB523 says:

Good morning chopper. My goodness, what a progressive start to this fine day.

You are correct chopper, the lack of quality, gratuitously presented, leaves absolutely no confusion.

I was thinking something much more useful when I first arrived this morning:
I give you "National French Fry Day"… just in case you were unaware: http://bostonherald.com/blogs/lifestyle/fork_lift...

    • ret_cpo says:

Good morning Cityhawk, and thanks for the post about the French Fries. The article reminds me of a time in my youth when I had a job in a small restaurant. My main chores were washing dishes but I was also responsible for preparing potatoes for French Fries. We had a machine that kind of, sort of, peeled them and another gadget for slicing them into their final shape. They were real and fresh and I cannot recall any fries since that tasted better.

      Anyway, thanks for the memories.

      • AZVick says:

Good french fries are one of mankind's great foods. I like em on the brown and crispy side.

        • ret_cpo says:

I remember a little drive-in in my hometown that had curly fries. That was about a half century ago. A recent trip to visit relatives revealed it is still in business. I wonder if it is because of those great curly fries.

    • chopper says:

      oh that's too funny DB……..
Rarely, an i mean rarely, do i eat any fast-food. After i left work this afternoon i was hungry, in a hurry, and had some things to take care of………….so i went thru wendys and grabbed a couple dry bacon-cheeseburgers………and some fries. I got 3 burgers…….2 for me……..and 1 for the dogs to share. They helped me out with the fries too. 8^)

They're lucky (the french frieing gawds)…….because i certainly won't be making any myself later.

  5. TexasStomp says:

Has anyone told Michelle? If so, say buh bye to French Fries! Where would we all be without her patriotic help?

    sigh……………………is it Nov yet?

Very good example of how to exercise the Second Amendment to the U.S.Constitution. The carnival barker coppers were forced by a MERE citizen 8^) to yield power back unto it's rightful owner….a mastercard moment……

  8. sistyugler1 says:

Well, I was thinkin' happy thoughts. It's raining in No. Texas…..In July!!!……..nice, slow gentle drizzle. AND THEN, the frikkin' power goes out! WTF? Really Oncore Electric? Really? It's just a @#$%^&%$#@@$$%^ DRIZZLE!!

    • DB523 says:

it's not the drizzle, probably just someone stripping the wires for re-sale.. :)

    • onecornpone says:

      I predict a back-up generator in your future sis… jes' sayin'. ; )

      Enjoy yur drizzle…

      • Cowboy Logic says:

Speaking of drizzle, I see that former CONgressman Anthony Weiner is thinking of running for Mayor of New York City, and also that Maria Bartiromo at CNBC interviewed Elliott Spitzer last week……….

        • onecornpone says:

          You call that drizzle?

I'd say that was full blown scours!

Gawd, here we go with the bovine theme again…

You're determined to entice me to stick my foot in my mouth today, ain'cha?;-D
          .

          • Cowboy Logic says:

            Well.
I was thinking more along the line of dripping and drizzling.

            As in venereal………..

        • chopper says:

weiner should probably pull out before it's too late………..

          sorry.

          • AZVick says:

You're in rare form tonight, chopper. What with all that gray hair you gave your parents way back when.

            • chopper says:

              i'm sorry vick.

Before i call it a night, i'll leave you with this Betty White quote that i read tonight. Not sure what i was doing, or where i was going, or how i ended up reading this…………but i laughed so hard i almost peed my pants.
              http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/424652.Bet...

              • AZVick says:

Funny stuff from Betty. Just like you yesterday. You were throwing one-liners out all over the place.

I remember Betty White well beginning with her 60's gig on Password with husband Alan Ludden as host. She was pleasant and bright. Who'da thunk underneath that exterior beat the heart of such a wonderful human being. The ones like her are rare.

      • sistyugler1 says:

heh….I've been working on that. Got a few estimates. I'm trying to decide how big I need to go. Ever since Oncore took over it's been ridiculous. We always had a lot of power outages, but for a darn good reason……..hellacious storms. And, they'd have it fixed in a couple of hours. Since Oncore took over all you have to do is spit on the ground and the power's out all day.
        Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

        • onecornpone says:

Sis, I believe this new much slower repair service to be the case in a good deal of the south/southwest. Xcel bought our long time provider out about ten years ago, and service has been downhill ever since.

I too am studying on how big to go, since I need three at various locations. That's gonn'a be a serious chunk of change.

          • sistyugler1 says:

Ooooof! Three? I only need one and money is not an issue, but I'm trying to decide how big of a propane pig I want to look at. Ugh.

            • onecornpone says:

              money is not an issue

As long as I'm engaged in farming, I hope to call it equipment… heh heh

Yep, I have four houses (two too many), and one I probably won't bother equipping with a gen.
Makes me want to pitch a tent, cook over a campfire and sleep on the ground…
Wonder how long it would take to get over wanting a shower?;-D
              .

              • sistyugler1 says:

Hmmmmm…..maybe I could call it a "medical device". I need constant power to my computer to keep my sanity! Oh wait….Obamacare will tax the crap out if it. Nevermind.

I have an outdoor shower. We designed it after the ones they have in Jamaica. Great in the summer, but too cold in winter. The well has a pump that won't work without electricity, but the shower is downhill, so I can still take a shower, not a lot of pressure, but enough. The shower in the house needs the pressure to work.

I like the tent idea. No housework!

                • onecornpone says:

What I'm trying to figure out about the generators is which ones are most dependable and have a long life expectancy. Also whether to go with propane or diesel. My houses use propane, but if there were fuel shortages, being in the farming biz, I could probably get diesel as readily, or maybe more so. I have been checking into all this for three or four years, but since there is really no one local that does the installation and hookups it's been challenging. We get warnings from the local power companies all the time, about the danger home generators pose to their employees, so that liability is a concern.

I've had the thought that buying all one brand I might get a better deal, but then there's the issue if they turn out to be unsatisfactory because of some little manufacturing glitch, they'll all likely be duds. Eh, I think this is something to research to wile away the hours this winter. Who can say that the statist in charge wouldn't come and confiscate the damn thing claiming a clinic, soup kitchen or a hospital needed it worse than I did.

I don't have an outdoor shower, but I have a horse tank. My water comes up from about 400 feet, where it's constant 54 degrees… burrrr. Even in the hot summer time, 54 deg is a mite too cool-ish, although I could fill the tank, allow it to sit a day or two and it should be fine temp wise. Just a matter of fishing out the dead birds and bugs… LOL! Cleanliness is so overrated… ;-D

                • GaltFan says:

                  Howdy Stinky ;-P***

My bro and I just finished (almost) installing a Generac generator at his house. They have a great reputation up here. Not sure if they do diesel, but likely so… My deal on which to use would be energy units per storage space on diesel vs. gas. Just a guess, but diesel is probably the better of the two in that regard.

                • onecornpone says:

Yeah, I know diesel has some advantages, but propane runs cleaner, and there are less parts to worry about gumming up in the fuel delivery system. In winter diesel can gel, especially if it hasn't had the additives that prevent that, say, if it is leftover from summer purchase. It's really just a toss up which fuel would be more available in an event where electrical power happened to be disrupted for days or weeks. My house is on a MAJOR transmission line, which should mean I would have power when others might not. In the past that was true, but since this last company change, I'm skeptical. Generac was one of the brands I was researching a couple of years ago.

I am so challenged when it comes to computers etc. On the Kindle I was so excited that I managed to get on to this site and thought I'd take a stab at making a comment. Twice my keyboard just disappeared when I pushed the wrong button and I couldn't find a way to get it back.

LOL, well keep at it girl… practice makes perfect.

I too am 'puter challenged. The dang thing better come on when I push the button, or I'm up the creek.
