  1. With the Democrats already admitting that their convention is going to be a mess, I think that this is a pretty accurate picture of the Presidential race.

I've kind of had the same gut feeling about Romney as the Rope-a-Dope analogy. And especially with these latest attacks by Obama – the 'felon' statement and the 'you didn't build it' statement – it sounds as though his team is blowing through plans l,m,n,o, and p. Meanwhile, the Olympics and Romney's foreign trip will give things time to rest a bit before the big fall push.

The tenor of the article gives me some hope in what otherwise can look like a very bleak picture ahead of us. Of course, we are all waiting for Obama's big shoe to drop.

      • Romney is principled, disciplined, and has a plan down to the last minute of the race. If you are not excited about the way Obama just blew $100 million and didn't even move the polls you should be. It is going to be nice to have a decent person that knows how to run a government as President for a change!

You are right. It is very exciting that Obama spends $100 mil to keep the needle in the same place. What's truly gratifying is that the guy can't help but make one boneheaded statement after another. I swear he must write his own speeches because nobody else could make up and then say such stupid blather.

And Romney? For the time being, he doesn't need to do much more than just stand by as Obama snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Obama is his own worst enemy.

The BEST thing we can do as conservatives is to NOT watch the Olympics. NBC is NBC. They are only marginally right of MSNBC.
Think of it this way. Would you watch if the commentators were Al, and Jessie, and Rahm, and Nancy, and Harry, and Sheila, and Moochele, and um…Madcow?
    I would hope not. Boycott.

    • AZVick says:

Here's another reason to boycott the Olympics. I am.

    • I may watch a little of it but I just can't hardly handle track meets anyway. Had two kids in track and those meets were boring unless you were participating (which I wasn't).

      I'd rather watch paint dry…

lord have mercy. my middle boy did track for one year.

8 hour track meets on saturdays in Houston heat. I'd rather be waterboarded.

And he ran the 4×100. That's it. Coach made the kids all stay for the entire meet. Every time.

        8 hours for a 45 second race.

At the end of the season, when he told me he didn't want to run track anymore, it was the first time ever that i didn't try to talk one of my boys out of quitting something……(at least until my youngest started swimming….those meets are almost as bad…and they force the parents to be the time keepers).

        Football.

        Football.

        Football.

        Enough said. :)

        • I can totally relate to what you are saying! :)

I will forever bow down to the altar of high school football. Watching all those games that three of my four boys played made me an enthusiastic student and ardent fan of the game.

Wow, 4 boys. Your food bill must me out of control. :0

Happy to report those days are in the past. However, at any given time we still have one, two or more of them working in the family biz. So in a sense we're still helping them feed themselves. But as my husband says, it's best to keep the money in the family.

        NG,
About the only track and field event that I felt was worth watching are the hurdles because someone can wipe out : )

Pelosi already advised her comrades in the House to avoid the Dem Convention.

I am waiting to hear that someone has advised Obama not to attend.

    • I hear that didn't go over very well with the big Obama supporters. They are more interested in getting him re-elected than getting the house back.

I'm betting that they lose them both. And I'm betting on closing the gap in the Senate too…
