How Romney and Ryan are turning the Democrats’ favorite campaign attack against Obama

Good.
They need to keep it up, full court press the sucker all the way to November, and pile on the other issues as they go along.
Let 'er rip!
(Used to live in RipCity)
It's so nice to see republicans trying to 'win' for a change. I hope Boehner and McConnell are watching to see how it's done.
Win. Then actually govern for the individual.
It really isn't any different that going to a restaurant and picking from the menu. You can have steak and lobster for $50 or you can choose a hamburger and fries for $10.Ultimately you choose between your appetite and your pocket book.
For too long the Democrats kept choosing the steak and lobster, they have the "champaign taste" but the taxpayers only have the "beer pocketbook" . We need to keep the numbers in front of the voters and show just how each one of these impact the big picture. The warm and fuzzies won't stand up to scrutiny.
Obamacare confuses the words 'cost' and 'price'.
Obama bleats on and on about Obamacare lowering 'costs'. It doesn't. In theory, it can lower 'price' of care…..and it does so through bureaucratic mandate.
Certainly, the bureaucracy it creates can cap remuneration and the 'prices' that consumers and insurers pay.
But this does NOTHING to reduce the cost of the healthcare value stream. The cost of care remains the same….it just has to be paid by someone else….or eaten by the provider. And that, in turn leads to other costs….such as less people or less qualified people wanting to be doctors or healthcare providers.
The cost of bringing drugs to market is not addressed. If you cap the profit margins on the price of the drugs….how are new drugs brought to market? I work in the industry….it costs….get ready….$800M (you read that right) for most mainstream drugs to go through the regulatory process of approval to be brought to market. And that is an UPFRONT cost….that cost is the MAIN reason why drug prices can seem expensive. Forget what Obama tells you about greedy drug companies…yea, sure, money is made…but you need 800M on hand to start your next drug study. That money can only be raised through the pricing structure. And the bulk of the cost is meeting ridiculous and unnecessary FDA compliance requirements.
The reality is that the underlying root cause of the high COST of healthcare…..is existing government bureaucracy.
And, now….we are being told that we are going to EXPAND that bureaucracy, add more people to the insurance system (most of whom will be getting govt. provided supplements to pay) and add government PRICING control……..and Obama wants to pretend COSTS will go down?
Jeeeesus….this takes the cake for delusional lies.
"But EVERYONE has a right to healthcare" ……drop dead with that lie. Everyone can GET it NOW!!! The reality is that Obama wants to pretend that everyone has a right to no cost to themselves healthcare.
As is ALWAYS the case with redistributive government planning: The cost will come later….and it will be HIGH.
Lowering prices just hides the costs……and creates even more non-value added costs in the value stream.
