It's a gorgeous day in CO today.

Also, last night my kid and I watched "The Hunger Games" on DVD. It's a terrific movie and shows what "life" would be like under a socialist utopia. Except the socialists try to deny that socialism leads to totalitarianism. The only hair-split difference is who's the dictator: a single person (a la Hitler) or a group of people (USSR Politburo).

You need to read all the books. They are a lot better. I have a feeling they will make movies of them too.
The books are pretty gruesome. I loved the books.

….and Donald Sutherland was appropriately cast. The elite sycophants were remarkably similar to the leftist-liberal obots that swoon when baraky speaks.

Today my kid and I drove to the mountains to pick huckleberries and came home empty handed….hot dry summer left our dependable patch with nothing but a few small berries and alot of dried up immature fruit. She spotted a momma Spruce Grouse with two of her brood about ten feet away from us as we searched the area. After a photo, I talked to her about how to capture and kill one of these unwary birds if she should ever find herself lost and in need of food.
