I received another three page letter from Michelle Obama today, asking me to contribute to the Obama Victory Fund. She feels real bad about all the hard times people are having, especially those with unpaid medical bills. I read one page, and my gag-o-meter triggered, over her syrupy compassion. She must have worked hard on it – no doubt time for another vacay to some exotic location.

Anybody know how to get off the list?

    • aPLWBinAK says:

Mail her a coupon for Red Lobster?

      • bugwood says:

I sent a KFC and a U-Haul using their campaign's postage paid return envelopes.

      • WhoDuuuuhthunkit? says:

That get's you on the big donor, bundler list. Try a gift certificate for a free water at Chick Fil A.

        • WhoDuuuuhthunkit? says:

Oh come on now! Moochelle would love coupons to Red Lobster… especially on all you can eat night…. But the free water?… The jerk got it thrown right back in his face!

      • onecornpone says:

Now that's funny… ;-D Red Lobster huh? Might be worth a try.

      • Hobbes says:

Nope that won't do it … she'll take any food for free, even if it's an "establishment" below her current position! It will only endear OCP to her. I tend to believe … No way out, no way out….

    • tiredofit2012 says:

I got off one list wanting donations by sending them some monopoly money. You might also want to send a nice letter saying how broke you are with an IOU.

      • onecornpone says:

Honestly toi, I don't think I could get drunk enough to write those commies a "nice" letter. That might just be a bridge to far…

    • knuckles says:

If there's a return envelope, fill it with Republican literature, or junk mail, and send it back. They'll have to pay the postage if the envelope's used. That'll get you off the list.

      • onecornpone says:

Good idea knuck. I hadn't thought of sending them some of the (R) stuff I get… LOL that ought to get their attention if anything will. I thought about sending them a copy of my voter reg card stamped "voted (R) primary", but I don't want them to see my name. Thx!

      • Hobbes says:

Winner! The last thing the Obamas want is anything that takes away from their "stash". H*ll Obama doesn't even want to share any of the Dem Campaign money with Pelosi, or any of the other candidates. But, WE'RE the GREEDY ones!

        • onecornpone says:

I guess I should just let them keep on spending their money for postage to me. Any little way to drain their campaign coffers is worthwhile, even if it's only a postage stamp. I can get them for two by sending this postage paid envelope back to her, as well.

          • Hobbes says:

That's probably the best way. :-D

            • knuckles says:

I'm thinking of doing that myself. Go to their website and ask for some info to be sent to my house (a "fact kit" or an "action package" or whatever they call their propaganda). Then string 'em along and make 'em spend money on postage without sending them any money.

              • ChiTT says:

And tell them you would like yard signs, handbills and any other crap they have and you will gladly distribute the items. (Right into the g-can, that is…)

                • knuckles says:

                  That's devious and underhanded………
I'm all over it. I'll see if I can get a few friends to do it too.

                • ChiTT says:

                  "That's devious and underhanded…….."

                  …and fun!

The materials are also good tinder for the fire pit… (…if you don't mind adding to your carbon footprint)

                • knuckles says:

I'll add them to my Earth Day Bonfire.

                • onecornpone says:

Here we can't get (R) large yard signs without a big donation. Hell, I live on the highway that half the county to my south uses to get to the liquor store, but yet they want me to make a big donation for a 4X8 sign. Dumbasses!

                • Hobbes says:

Dumbassess is right! If I were them, I'd be knocking on your door, begging your approval to put up a sign or signs. But, that's just me … I guess, I worked in business too long and too long ago. :-(

    • JohnK144 says:

"Anybody know how to get off the list?"

Yeah. Vote them out in November.

    • Hobbes says:

How in the h*ll did YOU get on their list?

      • onecornpone says:

It was a practical joke some "friend" of my husband's played on him a couple of years ago.
        .

        • Hobbes says:

Okay, that explains it. Have you figured out a way to get back at this "friend"? I don't think there's any way to get off a Community Organizers' list. The begging will only last so long and then the threats will start!

Years ago a liberal so called "friend" of my husband's got us on the Habitat for Humanity list. We never gave anything, but, we're still getting crap from them. In fact, a couple years ago on CHRISTMAS DAY we got a special delivery package from them begging us to give! That was a beauty, can you imagine how much it cost them to deliver it on Christmas? Much less the whole package was a very elaborate presentation with glossy photos, etc… I wonder how much of their "contributions" actually go to the "poor". Seems like a lot of people volunteer services and materials to them … I'm sure most, if not all, monies go to "Administrative" costs.

          • onecornpone says:

I'm not sure which friend it was. There is a big nest of Dems here who thought that would be real funny. Blithering idiots still voting for the commies.

            • Hobbes says:

You gotta wonder why, doncha? Yuck! :-(

              • onecornpone says:

Plain ol' hardheadedness. They are all conservatives who have their head buried in the sand, and are too stubborn to accept that they are really Republicans now. They would rather hate and remember the past, when Dems weren't frikken commie radicals. They live in a fantasy world of the past. Insanity!

    • sistyugler1 says:

Contact the Democrat National Committee. They have an 877 number. You could also mail them something and e-mail them too. http://my.democrats.org/page/s/contact

      • WhoDuuuuhthunkit? says:

But that only get's you on another list of theirs.

Oh! Never mind… we are all already on that one. Guess we are talking about getting off the "last chance" list.

A much different view about Todd Akin's comment about rape, the RNSC, and especially John Cornyn. Start at the beginning.
    Ladies, weigh in.

    • Roger says:

What bothers me is that if a rape victim goes in for a rape exam they take precautions with consent to prevent pregnancy.

So, Akin was correct, even if he said it clumsily.

    • Hobbes says:

I didn't listen to it all … just a few spots.

First of all and most importantly, I think, we can all agree that Akin was a setup by the Dems. Why would they contribute $2 million to his campaign? They wanted to embarrass the Republicans and get Claire McCaskill re-elected. I don't know how he got to be in the race to begin with, doesn't the Republican party vent anyone? His over the top beliefs, couldn't have been a surprise to everyone. Somebody, besides the Dems, must have known this guy was a time bomb ready to explode! And, if they didn't then what the h*ll does the Republican party do besides raise money and slap themselves on the back as to how GREAT they are! Or, do they hate the Tea Party so much that they are willing to sacrifice the Country in order to save their "good ol' boy" club, and, completely ignore good candidates? From what I understand, Brunner (the runner up) and Steelman were both good candidates. Sarah Steelman was endorsed by Sarah Palin.

And, I admit I didn't listen to it all, but, the argument that the question of abortion is going to be thrown at ALL Republican candidates is a given. What is not a given is the stupid and completely crazy rambling answer Atkin gave. No sane person can possibly condone or support that response. The radio guy's argument that no libs went after Elizabeth Warren … well what do you expect from a bunch of drug induced brain dead, unethical hippies? We know better, that's why this Atkin fool needs to go!

Sorry, no amount of spin on this will pull this creep out of the bottomless pit he brought on himself!

      • onecornpone says:

The$2 million in dem donations itself disqualifies Atkin for me. What kind of damn backwater is MO fer gawd sakes? Some of that crap they were spouting was merely anecdotal BS rambling. Frikken cretins!

  7. ladykrystyna says:

That's what I was thinking – where did he get this information from? I could see the "legitimate rape" being just not a well said point – women can and have lied about rape for numerous reasons.

But I'm sure there are a lot of babies born of rape who would beg to disagree that a woman's body shuts down to prevent pregnancy during rape.

The only women I know of that could possibly do that are the Bene Gesserits, but they are a fictional group of women from a 1960s sci fi series.

    • Hobbes says:

I agree that what he so clumsily said was that there are some women who lie about being raped, but, that is up to the courts NOT so called politicians. If he can't make a clear and distinctive thought about this sensitive subject, why would anyone believe he can or should make decisions about anything else that effects peoples lives.

      • ladykrystyna says:

Oh, I agree – I wasn't so concerned about the "legitimate rape" comment because I think I understood what he was saying there. It was the rest that was so beyond stupid.

  8. Roger says:

That's not what I said. If there is a legit rape and they seek medical exam they can and as a matter of protocol get anti-spermicidal gel to prevent pregnancy. Most do while shut down emotionally. Most are not thinking well, are in shock and the medical staff help them do it as a matter of course. It's part of the larger treatment they receive, like testing for STD's.

The part of his quote I heard was that there were few pregnancies from rape, not this second part you just quoted.

    • Hobbes says:

No, he said "… women's bodies shut down…" Why you want to rewrite his bonehead statement is beyond me! Do you really believe his is worth defending or do you just want to argue for the fun of it? Either way, I've lost interest. Keeping Akin on the ticket will only help Obama win. Will that make you happy?

      • sistyugler1 says:

He has to file some papers first. He'll be gone by tomorrow.

      • Roger says:

The quick bit I heard (not read) was obviously not very complete.

The rest, I explained what I knew to be true for rape victim protocol. Read into it what you will.
