I'm trying to get a not-so-coded message through to ActinUp. I am being flagged. Guess what? Sent via The Daily Caller. We should see her soon.

  2. ISITC says:

Well, this is interesting. Looks like an after party! After the loss of Andrew. :-(

I was primarily a Big Hollywood commenter, not so much on BG, and I still check out their new effort regularly, but this seems like a nicer focus on the issues at hand. I hope to be able to share some insights with you all. Good to recognize a lot of the names I've been missing over there lately.

    • Cowboy Logic says:

      Whoever you are, feel welcome.
Consider this an After the Wake Party, Party.

We never were invited, so we threw our own.

      • ISITC says:

Just starting to poke around, getting the lay of the land. My time isn't as available as it once was, so it may take me a short while to get rolling. But roll we shall. Thanks for putting this together.

        • Cowboy Logic says:

          I didn't.
I just help out a bit.

          • Nick Shaw says:

            Sweepin' up n' such. ;-)

          • Billyb9 says:

            >>>>>>> Clean up on aisle 5>>>>> Clean up on aisle 5 please!

          • ISITC says:

Well, that thanks was a general open thanks to everyone who had a hand in this. I guess the biggest tip of the hat goes to the Navy Gentleman, so that's that.

            • Cowboy Logic says:

I have seen your avitar and your comments back in the past over at Nolte's Big Hollywood.

              • ISITC says:

I was reading and commenting since day 1.

                • Cowboy Logic says:

I heard about Big Hollywood after it was up and running for about a month or so. I never commented there in the beginning, as I did not fit in with that clique. I respected Andrew for what he was doing, and Nolte's articles were decent. Then Larry O'Connor came along and started the Stage Right Show, and the "HCP". I used to listen to Larry's show in the evenings and enjoyed it.

When Andrew rolled out Big Government, I was there from day one, from the first thread forward. I really enjoyed it. I even went over and posted at Big Hollywood, but the clique showed me right quick that they didn't want any outsider heathens crashing their party, and banned me from posting.

We have all seen a lot.
We have all hopefully learned a lot.

                  I know I have.

        • Billyb9 says:

Hasn't been too much on the entertainment stuff- The main focus of the site seems to be political, as we're all pretty concerned about the condition of the country BUT there has been some outragious threads that have done everything but stay on topic!

The Open Topic is very active here- and as no topic is suggested, there's plenty of leeway there..

I love it here. Certainly a new home- this house that Navy Gentleman built!

          • ISITC says:

The entertainment stuff is what attracted me to the BIGs. Andrew had his fingers on the intersection where culture and politics met, and that fascinated me as I've been in the Hollywood environment my whole adult life. I eventually started to read a lot of the BG posts, even though I wasn't commenting so much. The state of the country is the hot spot these days, so that's what I'm more interested in reading about and putting in my two cents worth with those of like mind.

          • LibertyWriter says:

Sorta a new ship of state, (g)

  3. JoanOfArgghh says:

    Well, hello there, sailor! ;-)

  4. JoanOfArgghh says:

I really like it here; nice to see so many familiar names.

However, I will soldier on at Breitbart (and come here for respite) because it has the attention of the MSM and its trolls. And trolls make my day! I need the target practice to keep my aim sharp and my mind focused.

I was born under a bellicose star, I'm afraid.

It's a small aggravation to use Disqus when compared to our fight for freedom. I'll use whatever, wherever and say it loud and without shame: Socialism is NOT my national heritage.

    • LibertyWriter says:

Many of us do the same. Since the BB fiasco, I found a bigger world out there that use disqustin' and have availed myself to spreading the word to a larger audience. Here, you can do much of the same thing without moving out of your chair. The Navy has always been the smartest military service.

    • Nick Shaw says:

Note that you can still comment on the Disgust threads of Breitbart stories linked by our host then copy and paste to your ID account on the "outside", Joan. The best of both worlds really.

    • JuliaObama says:

Great to see you here Joan.
I always enjoy your takes on critical matters..
But I can't take DISCUS on any level…and Breitbart seems so disorganizied..

      Argghh !!!

    • Billyb9 says:

I thought this was an all mens club!

    • Sheik Yerbouti says:

      Me too, Joan.
(Actually, I'm just following you and OCP around. Try not to get me in too much trouble, okay? I have my reputation to consider).

  5. sourdough says:

Navy Gentleman… Thank you for putting this site together. When the bigs dropped ID I was lost and disgusted with Disqus and the “new” crowd of people just isn’t the same. It is so good to see the old crowd and read their posts.

  6. Sheik Yerbouti says:

    Thanks, Navy Gent.
I'm pretty tech-challenged, but even I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this.
    Much appreciated.
    —JoeInMichigan

    • Nick Shaw says:

Ahhh there you are! I've been dropping hints like crazy!
I thought you were dissin' me! ;-) )

      • Sheik Yerbouti says:

Yeah. I'm, uh, kinda slow. OCP finally hit me over the head with a tire iron. Great to see you in your ID clothes again, Nick. I'd forgotten what a handsome devil you are.

        • Nick Shaw says:

LOL! You would be surprised to know how accurate that avi is! Or, maybe not! ;-)

        • Billyb9 says:

I'd'a never knew it was you JoeIn!

Clever disguise that!!!! I used to wander around Bigs as Rotate_Right sometimes. Here I'm just li'l ol' Billlyb9.

          Good to see you sir!

    • Scylding says:

Michigan, eh? Me too. Near the People's Republic of Ann Arbor.

      • Taxpayer1234 says:

I used to live in the People's Republic of A2. Now I live in Colorado–uncomfortably close to the People's Republic of Boulder, A2's little sister.

    • Taxpayer1234 says:

Ah-ha! I thought I recognized your brand of rhetoric! :)

    • Thank you Joe.

I finally got a reply back from tech support at Intense Debate. They told me to read the manual. I said what manual? Now I'm waiting on the reply to that question.

      Gotta love tech support.

Hope you see you around, you have good comments!

  7. Scylding says:

    Happy Easter, everyone!

  8. ChiTownTom says:

So this is where everyone has been hiding…if I didn't know better I would have thought you kept me out of the loop on purpose.

    Great site NG…

    • Glad you made it here. Great to see you. If you run into any of the others please send them our way.

It is hard to find everyone and you were definitely not kept out of the loop.
Make yourself at home and if you need anything, just let me know.

    • di_da_is_alpha says:

Howdy. This place is starting to look more and more like home.

      • ChiTownTom says:

Amazing isn't it. You don't know what you have until it's gone. This may sound sappy but I haven't felt this good in about 5 weeks…

        • Nick Shaw says:

          No it doesn't, Tom.
I felt the same way when they let me come in. ;-)

          • ChiTownTom says:

This is great. I just looked at my "intense debate" page and have finally pushed those 5+ week old posts back to page two. I feel like I have a new lease on life. I'll miss the sleep I have been getting lately, but we can sleep after November.

        • Oregontea says:

I was actually hoping to keep you out…….LOL

Your snark rivals mine too much.

Welcome, I never did say it before, but you are a quick wit and a lot of fun to play with.

Here's wishing a lot of play time in the future.

          Invite some more good folk.

          • ChiTownTom says:

Ot, I have been kept out of better places… (wink)

The snark is a release mechanism that keeps me from going postal. (…and by "postal" I don't mean torn up, a week late and at the wrong address)

And thanks to Barry I have plenty of time to be a smarta$$…so I should be around. (at least until November) :-D

    • Red47 says:

It is so hard to round people up. Disgus is filtering :)

  9. Patrick Chester says:

Oh, there's an intro thread. Hi folks!

    • di_da_is_alpha says:

Greetings, Patrick. I look forward to once again reading your late night comments in the morning.

      • Patrick Chester says:

My "I've been up all night" ramblings are that good? ;-)

        • Taxpayer1234 says:

Well…glad to have you back anyway! (wink)

        • ChiTownTom says:

It beats reading the morning newspaper… ;-)

          • Beth says:

ChiTownTom….I have to give a big Thank You! to you for posting a link to this great site.

I am enjoying reading the articles and the best comments on the web.

Thank You – Thank You – Thank You

            Beth

        • Billyb9 says:

Really? Cool- I thought I was the only one! I work late and usually I just fill up the comment stream and go to bed with no responses- Good to know we vampires might get some activity now!

    • Nick Shaw says:

And Hi! to you too, Pat.
And yes, your ramblings can be pretty intriguing! ;-)

    • Red47 says:

      Another one is found. Yea!

  10. Markg55 says:

    About Me.
I am a 2nd generation American. Born and raised in Brooklyn NY. All four of my Grandparents came from Newfoundland in the twenties. I am 51, married with three grown kids. I currently live on Long Island. My trade is building automation (computerized HVAC, Lighting and security control systems) mostly in the NYC tri-state area. Been with the company for 29 years now since it's start-up. Love what I do. Some of my favorite things are Blues Music, Photography, Fishing, Smoking Food on my Weber Smoker, Cooking and Bourbon. I have never served in the Military ( something I wish I could change) and have the utmost respect for those who have. I consider myself a Constitutional Conservative. Just a little insight as to who I am.

    • Red47 says:

Do you enjoy walks on the beach and quiet talks for two with a nice Cabernet?

Could not resist. Nice to meet you. We are about the same age, have the same number of current spouses and some kids. I have no idea what I am or do because both boys keep me too busy to find out! I work from home and love it.

    • Nick Shaw says:

      Good to know ya', Mark!
Being a blues fan, you might want to listen in to Nothin' But The Blues (the best damn blues show in the whole wide world!)
Sunday, 8-10pm your time here, http://915.crc.cr/ (click "escucha en vivo")
Yes it's in English. With me, Fearless Leader, as your humble host.
And to rest of you clowns reading this, damn straight it's shameless self promotion!! ;-) ))

      • Oregontea says:

Hey, good to know Nick, I bookmarked it.

Will come by to visit sometime.

BTW 8-10 here in what time zone.?

        • Nick Shaw says:

          See, that's what I'm talkin' about! ;-)
Right now we're on mountain time so I'm guessing that would be 5 to 7 your time. Pacific, right? (I figured Mark is on the east coast so I added two hours for him)
My blues show is pretty straight. I don't get into much political discourse, hence the name of the show. Though, as this Sunday is Earth Day I really can't let that one go!
I save my mouthiness for my rock show during the week (Two Drink Minimum)
If you're interested, on the web page, under staff, you'll find me as Fearless Leader.
Hope to have you listen in and comment on the Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/nueveunocinco

          • Oregontea says:

Yup, been there and saw the pic. of you on your scooter.I love the blues and will tune in.Add the link to links with Navy.We are all in this together.

            • Nick Shaw says:

              LOL, Oregon!
I don't know about linking to the station, there's really nothing to talk about there except perhaps my off the wall entries. Remember, it's a heavy metal / rock station.
However, Rivers (in the post below) has an excellent Facebook connection scheme.

      • Markg55 says:

  11. rivers says:

Thanks Navy Gentleman! So glad I found you guys! It's like coming in out of the rain! I'm trying to do something similar to a blog on facebook, to bring the Big sites and other conservative new media sources to diehard facebook users: https://www.facebook.com/Breitbrats
Mostly an aggregate of news stories, was compelled to action with Andrew's passing. Would appreciate your dropping by and giving it a like. And thanks again for doing this, you are an honorable man.

  12. AZVick says:

So happy to see Andrew's folks from the old site. Great community and better comments. Signing in under my old name in the 'guest' box until I manage to get the Intense Debate log-in bugs worked out.

    • Cowboy Logic says:

      Good to see you here.
      Welcome.

    • ChiTownTom says:

      Glad you could make it…

    • Nick Shaw says:

Good to see you again, Vick. Well, that's not exactly right. I've been looking over the wall. ;-) )

    • Billyb9 says:

      Hi AZ!

You knew to sign in- that's great!

This sites so cool- Navy Gentleman set sail on something that has more buoyancy than the Bigs sites. Found yourself a home. The Arm Chair Patriots Brigade !

      And don't forget- Wednsday night is B I N G O

    • Good to see you again. I look forward to talking to you more.

Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

  13. momiss says:

So glad to find this site! I'll follow cowboylogic and oregontea anywhere! Momiss

  14. Syrin23 says:

So what is the history of this site? I see it is relatively new, many familiar faces from the Bigs websites, and a touching tribute to Andrew. Is this in response to the changes at the Bigs?

  15. GUNNYG says:

    NG,

Blog roll me and I'll recip. GREAT site and thanks for creating it.

  16. AZVick says:

    Wow. Back on Terra Firma.

I was happy to catch a comment to a BB piece the other day which gave the name of this site for the old Big Gov crowd.

Thanks to Navy Gentleman for setting all this up.

I look forward to our continued discussion.

  17. JoeKidd says:

To NavyGentleman: Thank you for starting this place, and having it ready for us!
To ChiTownTom: Thank you for the invite!

Hi. I’m an American Veteran who sees RIGHT

  18. Markg55 says:

Wow this is getting bigger. Old friends are popping in all the time.
    Nicely done Navy!

  19. Tanks,Sherman says:

Navygentleman: This site you created is awesome. Those that know what it takes to do this appreciate what you have done, but don't shoulder the burden alone…..monetize the site, at least enough to pay the bills….just don't go the breitbart successors route and plaster the wookie all over pitching her husband. ^^

P.S. A special shout out to ChitownTom! Without him, I would still feel like a lost puppy. ^^

  20. LadyHawk says:

    Navy Gent: kudos

Thanks for the heads up ChiTownTom!

Signing in with my avi! So great to see everyone. Love the site!

  21. Goo says:

    Greetings and salutations! It's Goo…

  22. Tomtom29 says:

Hallelujah! It''s great to be back among friends.

  23. ChiTownTom says:

To all the folks I just began to "follow",

I did it for a reason. I wanted to introduce to you a new site that was very much born in the spirit and dedicated to the memory of Andrew Breitbart. It was started by a man we have all come to know as NavyGentleman. He has done a fine job putting this site together and it gets better every day. It has that old Breitbart/intense debate feel that we have all come to know and enjoy. So pull up a chair, poke around a little and meet some old friends. We have been waiting for you!

    CTT

  24. mikerussellus says:

Hi guys. CheesecakeLarry aka Mike Russell here. I want to thank Red47 and NevyGent for this!

    I'll be busy! :)

    • di_da_is_alpha says:

Hello, Larry. Or are are you going to go by Mike, now? And didn't you used to have a prairie dog for an avatar? Talk about a change of pace. :)

      • Ahhh figured out the old password (it has been a while) Guess I'll stick with Cheesecake still.

        • Whats_Up says:

Wow – it has been a very long time, Larry. So glad to see you here. Aren't a lot of us in the forum yet. We are trying to locate some of our other buds to join in, too.

As I recall, were you in Germany over a year ago?

    • DB523 says:

Cheesecake…the good Dad!!!! Yea! Glad to see you. :)

      • Thanks DB. Just sarted checking this site out, but can we start threads, post articles and such as well here?

        • DB523 says:

Oh, we won't care if you are Mike or Larry, just come on by. And Navy Gentleman has made this real easy…you will catch on, that right hand side bar is who is flapping their gums right now, and there is the neat little "jump" thing, so you can zoom in an out of threads. It isn't so much "the articles" though they put up good headlines, it really is all about the comment threads….and we don't have those old "Intense Debate" "problems" now.

        • Billyb9 says:

Hello Mr.Cheesecake! I noticed you back at the bigs shortly before it changed. But even then I don't think too many of us were commenting enthusiastically. I think the Gentleman has captured the spirit of Breitbart (as we had all been in love with) and created this Web site.

There is a place to post links in "links"

Also Cowboy has set a challenge- though he didn't say it loud or how it was come to be but here's the link to the challeng for us to contribute as citizen journalist-

Check out his first comment in this article… http://www.navygentleman.com/political/?p=4527#ID...

My plan is to blog about a local pastor who was able to convince a local public Highschool to include a study of the Bible as part of the curriculum….

    • Great to have you back Cheesecake!

    • Taxpayer1234 says:

CHEESECAKE! I'm soooooooo glad to see you! Been thinking about you and wondering where you've been. Welcome!!!

    • Good to see you again. I'll be talking to you soon.

    • Red47 says:

Hey there. Good to see you. I always enjoyed your comments.
I had to edit my first response because it is late and I had you mixed up. Did I find you through an old blog link? (It is a wonder that some days I can make it all the way from breakfast to dinner without assistance!)

  25. keepdad says:

    Happy to be here.

  26. ReaderRedux says:

Thank you for this, Navy Gent! I've missed everybody. Spend most of my at the Bigs.

  27. ronashco says:

Thanks ChiTownTom for the hint about this site. Thanks NavyGentleman for setting this up.I was wondering where everyone went. I missed this format. Now I feel like I'm finally home after a long time away.

    • ChiTownTom says:

No problem. This site was too good not to pass on. It has the feel of the old Breitbart days and with all of the old pals to boot.

      Dig in and enjoy!

  28. MuhammedX says:

AHHHH! Text articles with no rediculous fonts and pictures!!! Kudos. Bookmarked! Never thought I'd say I am glad to see IntenseDebate, but damn disqus sux.

  29. ScarySoetoro says:

Oh, so this is where everyone went :D Good job, NG, and good luck with the site.

  30. NOQTR4TR8RS says:

BZ and good luck with the site, Navy Gent. And a salute to fellow patriots and respected adversaries from the old Breitbart.
